Gregorio Sanciangco Memorial

Gregorio Sanciango, a native of Malabon is a lawyer, economist and a writer. He wrote the first treatise of economics of the Philippines, and, was also a member of Rizal’s reform movement.

His humble memorial is located at Tonsuya, Malabon.

Sadly, like many other historical sites in our country, the memorial statue of the Late Gregorio Sanciango is either forgotten or vandalized. Everyday people walk by this humble memorial not knowing what he contributed to our country - A few has made an effort to remember.

Pondohan, Malabon City

I think Malabon is well-known for its pondohan, same goes for Navotas as well, or, that’s what I would like to believe…I don’t know really.

Pondohan or Bagsakan is the place where all fish trading happens. Night here is actually daytime for people working in this place. It is definitely a busy place and just beautiful to look at.

I’ve been coming back here for almost four separate days now and I can tell you it’s hard to get a descent shot here. The environment is not well lit, you cannot set up a tripod and you can’t use flash (or you can if you want to attract the peoples attention hehe). It is only last night I was able to get some descent shots.

Not minding the occasional rain and baha I went out last night and below are the images of Pondohan, Malabon City.

High School Reunion

Reunions are a great way to rekindle old friendship and it is always a refreshing feeling to see familiar faces that you haven’t seen for a long time.

A little bit of shyness or pagkailang is usual but a bottle of alcohol can usually cure that hehe.

Planning for a reunion is a very big task, there is no such thing as a definite plan, you either have a plan a, b or c. But for what its worth, it’s always good to see old friends. Masarap mangasar sa mga naging jumbo size lol

This is just our second reunion in almost 12 years! This definitely needs some fixing! I hope to see more reunions in the future

Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk

Divisoria

A plan to go to Laguna ( to visit Mt. Makiling ) was postponed. Instead, just decided to accompany my wife in buying give away items for my youngest son first birthday.

In taking photos at Divisoria you either have to be brave or ask someone to accompany you. I once took some night photos at Divisoria. There were three of us; myself, my friend and my tripod hehe

Manila North Cemetery

Went to Manila North Cemetery yesterday together with two colleagues. After about 15 minutes of shooting around we were apprehended!

Turns out that it is not allowed to take photos anymore, most probably if you’re using a dslr…

Sad thing about it is that ***hole securities, instead of explaning why it is not allowed, decided to make a fuzz about it. The head security shouted and angrily informed us that it is not allowed to take photos because this is a ‘Public’ place, WTF!!! LOL

Umm, maybe he meant to say this a private place? *dumbfounded*

We just left voluntarily and decided not to argue because there are at least ten people around us hehe

As it turns out, there has been a lot of incidents concerning dslr owners…

Anyway, managed to take about 3 shots and we decided to just go to Manila Zoo.

Didn’t have that many good shots, freakin’ North Cemetery incident ruined the mood.

Out to Lunch

Being able to work from home is a blessing. I get to watch my children grow up right before my eyes.

Sure, working at home has its own ups and downs, but, it’s moments like this that makes it so rewarding…

An afternoon spent with my family at the mall. Priceless. Parang credit card commercial a hehe

Luneta Park

Yesterday was Luneta photo shoot day, and though the rain almost ended the shoot we we’re still able to get some nice shots around the park. Visited the Japanese Garden and Chinese Garden - Nothing much has changed, it’s still a lovers lane heh

San Bartolome Church Malabon

It was a perfect day yesterday, so I decided to go out and take some pictures at the nearby San Bartolome Church.

Started out taking some pictures of the church and the nearby garden, and then, all the children on that area started noticing me and followed me all around. Yikes!

Decided to take their pictures instead and I was not disappointed, almost all the children at the garden were all game for a photo shoot.
